What is a PTA?
PTA stands for Parent Teacher Association. PTA comprises more than five million parents and other concerned adults nationwide devoted to the educational success of children and the promotion of parent involvement in schools. PTA is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that prides itself on being a powerful voice for all children, a relevant resource for families and communities, and a strong advocate for public education. Membership in PTA is open to anyone who is concerned with the education, health, and welfare of children and youth.
The Sally K. Ride PTA is a group of parents, grandparents, community members, and teachers committed to ensuring that all children succeed at Sally K. Ride Elementary School We invite you to join our team and help us race to a new membership goal of 200 members. Membership is only $8.00 per person.
The SKR PTA offers many diverse programs that are available to all SKR students: Science Fair, Reflections, Sweets and Treats, Cultural Showcase and many others. Most activities are free of charge thanks to our fundraising programs.
We also pay for the activity bus, which allows many students to participate in after school activities!
